ProAndConrad : A Movie About Premier Cartoonist Paul Conrad
Objective:
When award winning music video director Jeffrey Abelson needed a website that would promote an upcoming documentary on LA times cartoonist Paul Conrad for HBO, he turned to TOL23 Design. Paul Conrad was to be immortalized in the HBO documentary "Drawing Fire" and the website needed to be cutting edge, artistically unique yet one that complimented HBO`s film.
Strategy:
Utilising flash, a website was created that not only reflected Paul Conrad`s brilliance as a social cartoonist, but also took the end user back to a time when newspapers were dominant, all in an online medium. Film content was presented using quicktime.
Results: The Paul Conrad website is a testament as to how traditional mediums such as TV and newspapers can cross over to the net. A remarkable website built entirely in flash, the stunning design was and remains to this day, a testament to one of the greatest cartoonists of the 20th century, Paul Conrad.
